I am Penny mother of three young children and a teacher.

Little Artist was born from an idea for a Joey Sea Scout craft activity. As always I was rushing to find a craft activity for the children. I bought some t-shirt paint and calico and got each child to paint on a square of calico. I had a vague idea that I might do something with their paintings. When I got them home and ironed and washed them I realised what wonderful masterpieces they were. What was beautiful about them was the freedom of the chillds' creative spirit was captured at that moment. The Joeys at age 6 had been very proud of their paintings at an innocent age before self consciousness has set in.  I wanted them to be able to display their masterpieces. I stitched them onto t-shirts along with a little label about their painting. When Santa Claus rowed a Sea Scout boat on the Derwent to deliver their presents at their Christmas party they all immediately took off their Joey shirts and scarves and put on their t-shirts.
