At each market I provide the opportunity for children to paint and draw and have their artwork presented onto a garment. I also aim to bring with me a type of meaningful entertainment for children. Children have the opportunity to experience working with beautiful natural products and to create a simplistic momento that appeals to the refreshing, uncomplicated psyche of the child.

Little Artist @ Apron Design Market, Launceston

 

At markets and fairs Little Artist is being sold as a ready to go kit. Each kit contains; a washable reuseable kit bag, a set of seven fabric crayons and a fabric pen in their own recycled cardboard cylinder, an apron or bag with a blank calico square sewn onto it, a 'Working Creatively with Children' document and instructions.

We prefer an undercover site with access to water but can operate from our own tent.  We set up the painting area and provide all of the materials.  This includes the blank canvases, a palette of high quality fabric paints, paint brushes and smocks.

I will take the paintings away to place them on the customer’s chosen product.  This process takes about one week.  I will then deliver the finished products to parents. The cost of the Little Artist experience starts from $15.

Big Artist

At fairs and Markets we also sell some Big Artist products. Orders can be made by phoning or e-mailing me. These pictures are drawn by hand, scanned onto the computer. I then use a software package to go around the outline of the drawing. The work is saved onto a smart card  and the information is read my sewing machine and the machine draws the picture. This is 19th century craft, namely embroidery, using 20th century technology. All pictures are sewn onto beautiful natural linen.
